Windows 8 got finally released through Retail Outlets and PC Manufacturers(Vendors) on 26th October. It was already available for download to those who have valid paid MSDN/ Technet subscriptions..

Note:- The links posted in this thread are final build links released by Microsoft on 15th August 2012 for MSDN/Technet subscribers
and which is released to public on 26th October through Retail chains and PC Vendors.

So this build is not Developer Preview, Consumer Preview or Release Preview versions launched by Microsoft earlier for Developers and Consumers for testing purposes.

On October 26th this version is released to Public as they could now buy Windows 8 DVDs from retail stores.
Various PC vendors like HP, Dell, Lenovo, Sony, Acer etc. are now offering windows 8 pre-installed PCs to the customers.
So it's OFFICIAL LAUNCH FOR CONSUMERS and NOT FOR MSDN/TECHNET Subscribers.
